Comments: It is such a blessing to many women to be able to have such a website as yours. Many in the church feel isolated at times, and this website allows them to come into community with other women of faith. We need to keep on uplifting one another, so that we may all be the light that shines to the main focus - Jesus Christ and the true meaning of the cross. I would also like to see not only women of the year who have achieved great things, but a year where all women who serve God are celebrated. Sometimes it is the woman behind the scenes or the humble woman who deserves the most reconition. Just as Jesus humbly did His Fathers work. Or what about the women who go through fire, trials setbacks and tribulations finally achieved the victory of acomplishing God's work, the ones who never thought they could make it to seminary, or who had many trials in seminary, the ones that people said are worthless etc. These are women that need to be heard from. "Thank you for the work you are doing and may it continue to grow daily. With confidence as women for God we can always say: "Your right hand has held me up, Your gentleness has made me great." - Psalms 18:35

Comments: I was referred to your site by my distant relation and good friend, Joy Butler, our SPD divisions women's leader. My background and reading of the Scripture suggests to me that God's "cultural" response to human issues in the Word as being reflective of His seeking partial community relevance and not necessarily providing age long principles and practices to be binding in all places and all times, ie. Jesus/Jews/Moses over remarriage/divorce issue and the N/T priesthood of believers, etc. Therefore God is about leading us all out of "bondage" to being common citizens of Heaven now. I see that this challenges a church community so much entrenched in the O/T, that we could easily overlook the teaching principles of the N/T and may even lead to Catholic type regression of theology. This all means that one is unwise to take the Scriptures always on face value, because it can lead us to form conclusions about God that are not reflective of His beautiful character. I see ordination not as an issue of gender, but as the early churches acknolwedgement of the Holy Spirit's calling of a life to service. These are some of the basis's for my thinking.
